Large Acorns are perfect for autumn decorating--but the caps inevitably fall off---so I've done the legwork for you in this listing of Natural or Preserved Affixed Cap Acorns.
After roasting in the oven for several hours to fully dry, I sort the acorns, remove the caps, and re-attach the caps back with hot glue. With proper handling, these acorns will last through many autumn decorating seasons!

Affixed Cap acorns PRESERVED with shellac
To help preserve and protect them further; with the Preserved option, I then spray several coats of an all natural, clear shellac sealer around all the acorns. This gives them a layer of protection and a slightly shiny sheen!

The approximate weight is about 12oz. for 50 Acorns.
After the acorns are sorted, we then treat them to destroy any possible insects by slow roasting them in an oven for several hours....rendering the acorns clean and dry. We give the acorns a good sifting and quick brushing. These acorns then have their caps affixed and are sealed as noted above.
